THE DREYFUS GARDEN, ENCOMPASSING PART OF THE FORMER KITCHEN GARDEN, WILL HIGHLIGHT
THE MAJOR DIFFERENCES IN THE LEVEL OF THE TERRAIN AND USE IT TO SIGNIFICANT EFFECT
TO ENABLE THE REMODELLING OF THE CENTRAL AREA.
Parallel lines of trees of differing heights will highlight the gradient and reveal, from the street above,
a green horizontal canopy.
These trees will grow in four large squares of soil which by their different colours - red, white, black and yellow -
will evoke the universality of the author’s message.
The species of trees will vary according to the substrata: the brown soil of the vegetable garden, neutral red soil,
acidic black soil, chalky white soil.
In this way, the soil, the gradient and the species of trees will evoke variety, diversity, and otherness, while
the horizontality of the leaves and the sky in relation to the gradient will suggest equality.
The intentionally geometric rigour will give the garden an atmosphere of contemplation in which the visitor
will be at liberty to stroll freely.
